User Experience Design

User Experience Design (UXD) is a process of description. It creates increasingly-detailed models of system behavior leading to implementation by coders and user interface designers.

A positive user experience is worth paying for. If someone in your organization does not agree, ask, 'How much do you want your product to not make next year?'

Who am I to Talk?

I've refined my interaction design process since 1995, managing UI design teams while creating user interfaces and interactive experiences for enterprise applications, social networks, and Flash applications.

I'm practiced at meeting strategic business needs with user-centered solutions.

My work with most aspects of HTML, Flash (design and Actionscript), CSS, and DHTML provides thought lead perspective for high-level user interaction design.

Some of the work is Flash, some Web page. Some used extensive interaction design methodology, while others used less formal process (i.e., goofing around).

The case study of the Instantis SiteWand project (2000 - 2003) discusses how to apply an end-to-end design process in a zig-zag real world. During that three-year period I codified my approach to user interaction design. (Please see Design Process.)
